Suzanne Ehlers
Suzanne Ehlers was president and CEO of PAI from 2010 to 2020. For over 20 years, she has worked to promote women's health and rights across the globe. She currently serves as CEO of the Malala Fund, and is highly regarded as an advocate, convener and thought leader. Suzanne is a frequent speaker on issues of women’s health and rights and has been profiled by New York Times columnist Nick Kristof, National Journal and Grist. She was honored as a Devex’s “40 under 40” International Development Leader, and by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader. Prior to joining PAI, Suzanne was a grantmaker at the Wallace Global Fund where she supported a strategic grants portfolio that broke new ground in the fields of sustainable forestry and international financial institution reform, as well as laid the early foundation for philanthropic engagement on climate change. Suzanne served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Central African Republic following her graduation from Cornell University with a degree in government. She speaks French and Sango, and is an avid traveler and baker. She resides in Washington, D.C. with her husband and two daughters.
