$50 for 50 Years of Reproductive Rights

At PAI, we believe no woman should lack access to reproductive health care and contraception. We fight every day to make sure that girls across the world have control over their own reproductive health so their dreams can become a reality.

Today, PAI is proud to join thousands of businesses, organizations, and individuals who are kicking off the holiday season by participating in #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back and celebrating generosity.

2015 marks PAI’s 50^th anniversary. To celebrate, we ask you to contribute $50 for 50 years this #GivingTuesday.

Today, we think about women we have met around the world fighting for the right to quality reproductive health care. In Malawi we met Towera, an 18-year-old who spent the summer sleeping outside of a district hospital for months waiting to give birth to her first child. The hospital lacks funding and is overcrowded, forcing many women like Towera to camp outside, hoping to receive the care they need.

At PAI, we know this is no way for a girl to spend her summer, much less live her life.

That’s why we fight for critical policies that will help women access quality family planning and reproductive health care services. And for the past 50 years, you’ve been a crucial part of our fight.

But we still need your help. As Edford Mutuma, an advocate for reproductive rights in Zambia recently told us, “This is just a beginning. We have lots left to do.” We couldn’t agree more.

In just the past year, PAI provided more than $1.3 million to 30 of our partner organizations in 20 countries, supporting them to make real change in the lives of women.
