In One Place
In sub-Saharan Africa, more than 22 million people are living with HIV. More than half of these people are women and girls. The risk of mother-to-child transmission of HIV can be reduced to less than 5 percent through a combination of prevention measures. Dollar for dollar, providing family planning has the potential to avert nearly 30 percent more HIV-positive births than a treatment-only approach.
In this region of Africa, 53 million women want to avoid pregnancy but cannot access contraception. Reproductive health is integral to HIV prevention, care and treatment.
In One Place, a film by PAI, shows why integrating family planning, reproductive health and HIV/AIDS is a priority for women and young people in sub-Saharan Africa.
